4 Scriptural Ways To Turn Around A Bad Attitude

4 Scriptural Ways To Turn Around A Bad Attitude

What are 4 ways that Scriptures can turn your bad into a glad attitude? What ones would you suggest?

Think Like Christ Thinks

Jesus went to the cross, praying to have the cup removed yet He did this for us who don’t deserve it. Jesus did what He didn’t want to do and so imagine if Jesus was in a bad attitude that day just before Calvary? We’d all be hopelessly lost so Paul tells us “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross” (Phil 2:5-8)! Think what Christ gave up for us! Put yourself in His sandals just moments before the cross and realize that it was “for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb 12:2).

Death, Pain, and Sorrow Will End

Revelation 21:4 gives us a glimpse of what is to come: “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” If we live today with the end in mind, we can endure the present so much easier. We have a security in Christ (rom 8:38-39; John 10:28-29) that the world does not have at all (Rev 20:12-15). All pain, sorrow, suffering, and death will be gone…forever! The Apostle John saw a vision of the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven and Jesus knew what was to come when He spoke “these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full” (John 16:24).

God Hears and Answers

In Psalm 34:17 God declares this fact; “The righteous cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.” Don’t you believe God? Don’t you believe the Word of God? You cannot separate the Word of God from the God of the Word and what He says He promises and God cannot lie (Heb 6:18)! No wonder the Apostle Peter declared we are to be “Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you” (1 Pet 5:7).

Nothing Today Compares with Tomorrow

I touched on this briefly but here is another promise from God’s Word where Paul declared as fact “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Rom 8:18). Someday in our eternal home, we’ll look back at this life and even the worst of our sufferings cannot hold a candle to the brightest shining light of all of the glory that is to come. Indeed “our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself” (Phil 3:20-21).

Conclusion

If we only get the right perspective, we’ll have the right attitude and turn the bad into good because nothing today will compare with the eternal joy of being with God forever and all of this evil, present world will be a past memory, gone like the wind of yesterday.

May God richly bless you,
