5 Good Scriptures To Use When Sharing Your Faith

5 Good Scriptures To Use When Sharing Your Faith

There are more than 5 Scriptures you can memorize and use when you share your faith but here are 5 important ones that I use.

Everyone’s Appointment with Death

Hebrews 9:27 “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.”

Statistics don’t lie; 10 out of every 10 people die. Everyone must die. There are no exceptions. When you tell people about their mortality, you can open up a spiritual conversation with “What do you think happens to someone after they die?” Then quote this verse. It just might open the door to share the gospel of Christ.

Are You Born Again?

John 3:5 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

When there was an elderly lady who was taken away in an ambulance once, a man came up to me and asked what happened. I just happened to be going past her when she said she needed an ambulance. She said “I think I’m dying.” After calling 911 the man asked me about it. I told him that she thought she was going to die. I asked her if she trusted in Christ and she said yes. I asked the man, “Do you know what it means to be born again?” He claimed to be a Christian yet he had never heard about being born again. That’s why the above verse was very important to tell him about.

Only One Name

Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

With all of the plurality going around these days in all the different spiritual belief systems and the misbelief that there are many paths to God, we must tell people that there is only one name given to us where we can be saved and that is Jesus Christ. Jesus didn’t say that “I am a way…a truth and a life…” but He said “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). He is the only way, the only truth and the only access to the Father and eternal life. There are no exceptions!

All Have Earned the Wages of Sin

Romans 3:23; 6:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” and “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I combined these two important Bible verses because I believe they go together. Many people feel that they are a good person but the truth is that none are good…all have sinned…all fall short of the glory of God and the wages we have earned for our sins is eternal death but the good news is that God offers “the free gift [of] eternal life in Christ.”

God’s Wrath or God’s Gift

John 3:36 “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”

We must all choose…either to repent and believe in Christ or to reject Him and have the wrath of God abiding on us. To make no decision is to still make the choice to reject Christ for He said that those who are not for Him are actually against Him (Matt 12:30).

Conclusion

I pray that you will hide these verses in your heart (memorize them) and be ready to given an answer for the hope that is within you (1 Pet 3:15). The above verses can soften their heart, humble them, and then make them ready to believe in Christ. Then you can say to them “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Cor 5:21). That’s exactly the reason that they call it the “good news!”

May God richly bless you,
