Prom is a special event in any young person’s life, and this prom was extra special for Trevor and Lillie of Wilmington, North Carolina.
Trevor works at a coffee shop owned by Lillie’s mother, Amy Wright. Amy explains that her business is “a shop that is run by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.” Trevor is one of the disabled persons who helps makes this shop a success, and he’s also good friends with his boss’s daughter Lillie.
And because of their close friendship, Lillie decided that she wanted to take Trevor to prom. She made a poster for her prom proposal and brought it to the coffee shop on a day when Trevor was working.
“I like coffee. I like tea. Will you go to prom with me?” Lillie’s poster read. And Trevor’s answer was an enthusiastic “Yes!”
Amy said that her daughter Lillie was excited about asking her dear friend Trevor to go to prom. And Trevor was pretty excited about being asked! They’re sure to make a cute and happy pair at prom this year.
