Our Mission
Our mission at Faith in the News is to encourage and equip Christians in their daily walk with Christ, providing daily devotionals that can inspire you and help you along the way in your daily struggles in life. When life gets hard, it’s time to get into the Word of God. That’s why our devotionals are Word-centered, and Christ-focused. That’s where our real source of strength is. God’s Word can help us know how to deal with life, relationships, work, and everything the believer faces in life.
Your Daily Bread
So many times our readers tell us that the daily devotional were just what they needed, and our intention is to show how God can give us guidance and lead us into making smarter, more biblical choices in life. We understand that we need our daily bread, and the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ, is present and living in His Word, always being a present help in times of need. These devotionals are also great for sharing with others who may also be struggling with life’s issues, and need the solid foundation of His Word.
God Speaks to You
In our devotionals, we share God’s Word to be a lamp to light your daily path (Psalm 119:105), and His Word has the very power of God in it (Rom 1:16; 1 Cor 1:18). We know that His Word never returns void but accomplishes His purposes in our life (Isaiah 55:10-11). These devotionals are not man-centered, but based upon the very breath of God Himself and are “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim 3:16-17).
His Help
God tells us directly, “I will teach you the fear of the Lord” (Psalm 34:11b). What we have to teach pales in comparison to the effectual work that His Word does in our hearts and minds. Our precious God “is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18), and He does that through His Spirit and His Word, so pick up your Bible and trust in the Word of God and not the word of man. At times, the Lord may tell us to “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him” (Psalm 37:7a). We have learned from experience that these many truths from the Bible give us hope, and His great and precious promises are more sure than tomorrow’s sunrise. That’s why the Psalmist could proclaim with full assurance, that “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread” (Psalm 37:25).
His Rest
When life gets to weighing you down, it’s time to come to Christ and unload every burden…every care…and every anxiety, for Jesus Himself says, “ Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matt 11:28-30). My friends, when life gets hard, get into the Word, and the Word will get into you. It is our hope that you’ll find solace in these daily devotionals since we lean heavily on the Word of God, for there is no other besides the Lord…and upon this Solid Rock we can stand.
